Cristian Amigo Trio

Award-winning guitarist, composer, improviser and producer Cristian Amigo (Elliott Sharp, Wadada Leo Smith, John Cage Big Band, Carlos Hayre, Bern Nix, INTAR Latino Theater) convenes one of his “dream bands” for the occasion of the Latin Free Jazz Festival in New York City. J.D. Parran (Anthony Braxton, Derek Bailey, John Lennon, Stevie Wonder) plays the wind instruments, and Andrew Drury is the drummer. Afro-Diasporic references, extended techniques, rhythmic invention, timbre, color, density and energy will inform their free and structured improvisation.
