INTAR ROOTS & NEW MUSIC FESTIVAL (Friday and Saturday, NOV 16 & 17). Featuring Elliott Sharp, Miguel Frasconi, Jason Kao Hwang, Cristian Amigo, Izzi Ramkissoon, Guidonian Hand, the Gotham Roots Orchestra, Patrick Grant, + YOU!
We’re looking to program an additional 6 music-based performances up to 30 min. in length.
Friday night will be experimental and avant-garde in nature, while Saturday will be roots and song based.
Submit proposals to Maristopoulos@intartheatre.org with “INTAR Music Festival – Roots” or “INTAR Music Festival – New Music” in the subject line by midnight Friday October 12th. Only electronic submissions will be accepted. Please do not mail packages to INTAR.
Please include the following:
1. A 250 word proposal that describes your intended performance and includes your instrumentation and technical requirements.
2. A link to one or two samples of your most representative musical works.
3. A short bio of 100 words that includes a promotional photo.
Please note that set-ups will be 10 minutes in length so, please present a realistic project that takes the set-up time into consideration. INTAR will provide a 2 speaker JBL PA system, 1 MIDI controller, 2 guitar amps, 2 keyboard amps (can be used as a bass amp or as a monitor) and a basic drum kit (drummers must provide their own snare and cymbals).
Your work will be carefully reviewed by an award-winning panel of craniomusicologists and dramaturgs. The finalists will be announced the week of October 15th. This a not-for-profit festival and all proceeds will be split between the performers.
